As part of its mandate to develop the Derivatives Market in preparation for its launch, FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited (‘FMDQ Exchange’ or ‘the Exchange’) commenced its Derivatives Market Webinar Series in March 2021, executed through FMDQ Academy, its financial market education and capacity building initiative. The goal of the Derivatives Webinar Series is to introduce and broaden participants’ knowledge and understanding of Derivatives market, its application, market operations and risk management with key focus on peculiar topics such as Futures Contracts, Margining, Positions, Derivatives Risk Management, Regulation and Documentation.
The webinar sessions have been targeted at regulators and market participants such as FMDQ Exchange Dealing Member (Banks), FMDQ Exchange Dealing Member (Specialists), Corporates, Brokers, Asset Managers, Pension Fund Administrators, Insurance Companies, other non-bank financial institutions as well as the media under the auspices of the Capital Markets Market Correspondent Association of Nigeria. From March 1 to April 6, sixteen (16) webinar sessions impacting 1,004 participants have been executed.
